Our accessibility commitment
thegivingHQ is committed to making every campaign page, donor flow, and team page usable by people of all abilities. We design and build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. That means our pages work with screen readers, are navigable by keyboard alone, hold up at 200% browser zoom, and meet color-contrast minimums for body text and interactive controls.
What we test for
- Keyboard-only navigation through every donate, team-signup, and admin flow
- Screen reader compatibility (VoiceOver on Safari, NVDA on Firefox, JAWS on Chrome)
- WCAG AA color contrast on all text, form fields, and buttons
- Focus visibility on every interactive element
- Form labels properly associated with their inputs
- Modal dialogs that trap focus and respond to the Escape key
- Reduced motion preferences honored on animated elements
- Automated axe-core scans running weekly on every published campaign
Known limitations
A few areas are still in active improvement:
- User-uploaded images on team pages and donor walls may lack alternative text. We're working on prompts that require captains to add a short description.
- Embedded video and audio testimonials rely on the upstream creator's captioning. We're adding a captions checklist to our intake.
Report a barrier
If you hit something that doesn't work for you — a button you can't reach, text you can't read, a form you can't fill out — please tell us. We respond personally within two business days.
Email chaimgelber@seohandoff.com with the page URL, the device and assistive technology you're using, and a short description of what went wrong. Screenshots help when they're available.
